Kinetex, the textile composite flooring introduced by J+J Flooring Group last year, has been named a grand prize winner in the flooring solutions category of BUILDINGS magazine’s annual Product Innovations award.

Kinetex was selected over several other entries for what the magazine says are its “innovative qualities that support the efficiency and sustainability of commercial buildings.”  Editors examined entries for sustainability, performance and maintenance attributes to find the best facility management solutions.

Specific qualities mentioned by the magazine in its feature of Kinetex in the September 2014 issue include: soft-surface flooring attributes that combine with long-wearing performance characteristics of a hard-surface flooring product; the flexibility to simply remove and replace individual modules if conditions warrant a quick fix; 55 percent recycled content; NSF/ANSI 140 platinum certification; and ease of cleaning and maintenance.

“We are honored to be selected by BUILDINGS magazine for this noteworthy award,” said J+J Flooring Group’s Director of Product Innovation Keith Gray. “Kinetex offers numerous advantages to facility managers and specifiers across several markets.  This award further validates that and the innovative solutions we’re bringing to the marketplace.”

Awarded during NeoCon 2014, Kinetex is part of an elite group of 30 finalists exclusive to NeoCon exhibitors.

The Counterbalance Collection is the most recent Kinetex introduction. Comprised of three products — Pop, Propel and Flash — the collection’s 24” x 24” modules offer patterns, colors and accents that work collaboratively to define and separate spaces and create wayfinding.

Named one of Environmental Building News’ Top 10 Green Building Products of 2014, Kinetex has 50 percent lower environmental impact than traditional hard or soft surface flooring. It is made with more than 55 percent post-consumer content and is the only flooring that can be recycled back into itself much like an aluminum can.  Kinetex is certified to NSF 140 Platinum and meets the Carpet & Rug Institute’s Green Label Plus for low indoor air emissions.  A third party Environmental Product Declaration is available.
